6 Weird Quirks ...

I've been tagged by Peg to list 6 weird quirks about me.  I've played in a similar tag in the past, but what the heck.  I've got a boat load of weirdness about me, so here goes....

1/  I never fold socks.  Oliver never folds socks.  No one folds the socks <!!>  Our family picks socks every morning out of the "sock basket"...which is basically an overflowing laundry basket of mismatched socks.  Can you imgine?  eeeeeek!

2/ I can only chew a piece of gum for a few minutes.  Then I either have to add another piece to my mouth, or spit it out.

3/ I pick the skin around my fingernails.  I know, I know.  gross.  Sometimes I don't even realize I'm doing it, until I get a big *twack* from Oliver.

4/ I have about 100 scrapbook pages stacked in my cabinet....waiting to go into albums.

5/ I hate the taste of black licorice... but the real weird thing about this is because why.   Way back when...when I was 18 and going down to college, my wild & crazy Aunt Julie gave me a big huge bottle of Sambucca to bring along to share with my friends (can you imagine doing that these days??!...and also, Sambucca?), anyway, I hardly drank anything back then, so when I got down to college I did the whole "Whoo hoo!  look what I got!" and quickly organized a party in our room with a  small group of girls on my floor.  Well didnt we drink that entire bottle that night.  omg.  To this day I gag thinking of that taste <insert gag reflex here>.

6/ I carry a big can of hairspray in my pocketbook.  always.  even though I hardly ever use it.  we're talking Sebastian big.  not the yardstick size (of course), but the medium one.  my friends get a kick out of checking my bag to "make sure its in there".... ha!  I just made myself laugh.   yep~ its in there right now.  and nope,  havent used it once today. or yesterday. why is it in there?   one of the great mysteries.... LOL.

Have I told you lately...

...How much I adore Scrapologie ?  hee.   Ranjini is leaving for CHA today, so she posted the Feb kit early... yeah for us!   I'll tell you,  each month these gorgeous packages of scrappy goodness keep getting better and better.... This month the theme is Springtime in Paris, and, I tell you... Ranjini makes me want to jump on a plane today and head to Paris with that preview of hers.  Amazing!  OH~ and if you're interested, the search to add 2 more DT members is still going on until Feb 15th.  Details here!  You will love being on this team.  Go for it girls!!

Here are a few pages I made with my kit and I also got to decorate a 6 X 6 album... I filled it with all the gorgeous birthday pages that my scrappy buds sent to me for my birthday last October.  Love each and every creation you guys made for me. Thank you so much and big special hugs again to my fabu friends  Wendy , Celeste , and Paula for organizing that surprise for me.  Love you guys!Let_it_shine2_1 Happy_bloom1_1 Serious_obsession1_2 Birthday_love_front1_1 Birthday_love_inside1_1

A girl can dream....

7248691 *sigh*, i want this room.  and, yes, i promise to keep it this clean and organized. :P <oliver is rolling his eyes right now>  hee.

Random Schtuff....

Heck ya,  I was totally cool in the 70's & 80's ... you know, with the Dorothy Hamill cut, reading Tiger Beat magazine, swooning over Leif Garrett while smelling like an entire bottle of Loves Baby Soft...  What?

If YOU WERE A LITTLE GIRL IN THE 70'S & 80's <and happened to be just like me>, THEN ...

You owned a bicycle with a banana seat and a plastic basket with flowers on it.

You learned to skate with actual skates (not roller blades) that had metal wheels.

You had nightmares after watching FantasyIsland.

You had either a "bowl cut" or "pixie," not to mention the "Dorothy Hamill". People sometimes thought you were a boy.

Your Holly Hobbie sleeping bag was your most prized possession.

You wore a poncho, gauchos, and knickers.

You begged Santa for the electronic game, Simon.

You had the Donnie and Marie dolls with those pink and purple satiny shredded outfits.

You spent hours in your backyard on your metal swing set with the trapeze. The swing set tipped over at least once. (LOL!...our tipped over all the time!)

You had homemade ribbon barrettes in every imaginable color. (Oh yeah!)

Your hairstyle was described as having "wings" or "feathers" and you kept it "pretty" with the comb you kept in your back pocket.  When you walked, the "wings" flapped up and down, looked like you were gonna "take off"

You know who Strawberry Shortcake is, as well as her friends, Blueberry Muffin and Huckleberry Pie.

You carried a Muppets lunch box to school and it was metal, not plastic. With the thermos inside!

You and your girlfriends would fight over which of the Dukes of Hazzard was your boyfriend.

YOU had Star Wars action figures, too!

It was a big event in your household each year when the "Wizard of Oz" would come on TV. Your mom would break out the popcorn and sleeping bags!

You often asked your Magic-8 ball the question: "Who will I marry. Shaun Cassidy, Leif Garrett, or David Cassidy..?"

You completely wore out your Grease, Saturday Night Fever, and Fame soundtrack record album.

You tried to do lots of arts and crafts, like yarn and Popsicle-stick God's eyes, decoupage, or those weird potholders made on a plastic loom.

You made Shrinky-Dinks and put iron-on kittens on your t-shirts!

You used to tape record songs off the radio by holding your portable tape player up to the speaker.

You had subscriptions to Dynamite and Tiger Beat.

You learned everything you needed to know about girl issues from Judy Blume books (Are you there God, It's me, Margaret.)

You thought Olivia Newton John's song "Physical" was about aerobics.

You wore friendship pins on your tennis shoes, or shoelaces with heart or rainbow designs.

You wanted to be a Solid Gold dancer.

You drowned yourself in Love's Baby Soft - which was  the first "real" perfume you ever owned .. .

You glopped your lips in Strawberry Roll-on lip gloss till it almost dripped off.

HAHA!  Can you relate?  I sure can!

I went around the shop today and took some random pics of some of my favy things in here.  I can't wait to get the fabulous headbands & felty barettes that the uber talented Miss Ruth Akers made for the shop...but, they are not here yet :(   I'll post them when they arrive!    In the mean time,  here's some random goodness for you to look at today.  Happy Hump Day.

*Hot Stuff*

So these little dudes have been flying out of my store since before the holidays!  The kids are collecting them...and have even turned their parents onto them! They are Ugly Dolls. Yes, Ugly Dolls.  Gotta love 'em .   My son is totally into them and is now ordering them for me...to make sure we get the ones HE doesn't have yet.  LOL!   20091

Happy New Year!

I never did get around to my annual tradition of making and sending out Christmas cards this past year.  I think it's the first year...in, what....10 years?  <sigh>.   and that made me sad :(   I love making those cards every year and look forward to it sooo much.   However, somethin' had to give this past month.   Since opening the shop,  I've had little time for much more besides that and the kids.  never mind...35+ for Christmas dinner,  which, of course, we had!     So now that the holiday madness is dying down,  I found some time today (and hopefull tomorrow to finish up) to make our first annual New Years Card to send out!   I kept is simple <cause I gotalot to make>, but here it is:New_years_card

My sister got this shot of us over Christmas.  Its pretty good and thats really good for us!!  We don't get many.  and Pip is even in it.  looking at the camera!  hello.   I also found these dangly silver "W"'s at Michaels that I knew I would find a use for someday.  Anyway,  Happy New Year!
